It all began with the controversial move by Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, as she attempted to “give” her Nobel Prize to Trump—a desperate effort to soothe his ego after reports of him complaining that “the prize should have been mine.”
But the Nobel Committee refused to let this ridiculous script continue. In a steely statement released this morning, they confirmed: “A prize can therefore not, even symbolically, be passed on or further distributed.”
