The U.S. Senate has approved a new law aimed directly at forcing transparency from the Trump administration, and the reason why is deeply disturbing.
Right now, the Department of Defense is hiding a September 2nd strike video from Congress and the American people.
This wasn’t just any military footage. According to lawmakers, the video allegedly shows a second strike on a disabled vessel — after the first strike had already destroyed it.
Two survivors were still alive.
Here’s what makes this even more alarming:
This administration has no problem releasing strike footage when it suits them. The President and the Secretary of Defense have proudly posted videos of airstrikes on social media. They even released footage from the first strike on that same day.
So why hide this one?
Because accountability changes everything.
Under the laws of war, killing shipwreck survivors is explicitly prohibited. Instead of interdicting and arresting those on the vessel, the legality of striking them again is now under serious question. And that’s exactly why Congress stepped in.
This new law is simple and powerful:
Show the full, unedited video to every member of Congress
Then release it publicly, with only legitimate security redactions
If every other strike video could be cleared for release, so can this one.
Transparency is not optional.
If this administration truly believes it has nothing to hide — then it shouldn’t be afraid of what the American people would see.
The real question is no longer “Did this happen?”
It’s “Why are they so desperate to keep it secret?”
Because once the truth is out, it can’t be buried again.
